Affiliate disclosure: how our links work and what it means for you

Some pages on HairRemover.net contain affiliate links. When you click one of these links and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission from the retailer. The price you pay is not affected — affiliate commissions are paid by the retailer, not added to your bill.

This page explains where affiliate links appear, how commissions work, and how our editorial decisions are kept separate from commercial relationships.

What an affiliate link is

An affiliate link is a tracked URL that tells a retailer's affiliate programme which site sent a visitor. When a purchase is completed via that link within a defined window, the referring site receives a commission — typically a small percentage of the sale value.

From your perspective, clicking an affiliate link and completing a purchase is identical to going to the retailer directly. You see the same price, the same product page, and the same checkout. The commission is paid by the retailer out of their margin; it is not a surcharge added to your purchase.

Affiliate links appear primarily on buying guides — pages where we compare or recommend specific products, such as our best IPL devices guide. They may also appear in method or area guides where a specific product is relevant and worth linking to.

Pages that contain affiliate links display a disclosure notice at the top of the page. Pages that do not contain affiliate links (informational guides, safety pages, utility pages) do not carry this notice because it would not be relevant.

How commissions work

We participate in affiliate programmes run by retailers and affiliate networks. Commission rates and terms vary by programme. We do not disclose specific rates because they can change, and precise current rates are available from each retailer's or network's own programme documentation.

Affiliate commissions are the primary way this site generates revenue. Without them, maintaining and updating the content would not be sustainable as an independent operation.

Editorial independence

Affiliate relationships do not determine what we recommend. Our editorial standards, described in full in our editorial policy, are clear on this: we do not rank products higher because a higher commission is available, we do not accept payment to feature or positively review a product, and we do not allow partners to review or change our copy before publication.

In practice, this means:

  • If a product we think is genuinely among the best in its category has no affiliate programme, we still include it and link to it directly.
  • If an affiliate partner's product has significant shortcomings, we say so.
  • Commission availability has no influence on whether a product appears in a guide or where it's ranked within one.

If you have questions about a specific recommendation or affiliate relationship, you are welcome to ask — contact details are in our about page.
